Facing dragons in the woods at our 2025
team event

30 September 2025
The ancient woodland of the Burnham Beeches Nature Reserve in the UK provided the backdrop for our 2025 team event – three days of reflection, connection and strategy to help twentyfifty continue delivering impact for Business and Human Rights.
More than 40 colleagues and associates from across the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Southern Africa and beyond gathered in Berkshire for our all-company meeting, a rewarding and energising annual celebration of our work and values.
Pitching for impact
One of the highlights of this year’s event was our very own ‘Dragon’s Den’ challenge.
Teams formed twentyfifty ‘spinouts’ and pitched bold new ideas for a (hypothetical) £100K investment, with the aim of revolutionising our work, delivering more value for clients and deepening positive impacts for rightsholders.

To secure the investment, these aspiring entrepreneurs needed to convince an experienced panel of ‘dragons’: Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership Programme Director Dr Louise Drake; former CSO of Kingfisher and Marks & Spencer Richard Gillies; and twentyfifty’s own Chief Executive Luke Wilde and Team Executive Assistant Mari Boman!
It was a fun experience that demonstrated what can be achieved quickly through the fearless sharing of ambitious ideas, creativity and great teamwork.

AI & award-winners
Our Marketplace sessions – led by volunteers across the team – offered a chance to upskill; share ways we have been innovating in our roles; and explore emerging business and human rights issues, including the implications and opportunities offered by AI.
Meanwhile, we celebrated individual achievements at our prestigious annual twentyfifty Awards dinner, honouring the funniest, the sportiest, those who had engaged the most rightsholders, and other colleagues who make our work exceptional.
The top prize, Employee of the Year, went to Brydie Weston, a Senior Consultant who continually supports and inspires colleagues and clients. (Watch Brydie reflect on community stakeholder engagement in a short video here.)
