25 June 2026
More than 30 clients, experts and speakers braved the London heat on 25 June to join our workshop at London Climate Action Week (LCAW) Hub The Conduit, and discuss where human rights meet climate strategy for a Just Transition.
Here are some of our practical implementation takeaways from the session:
- The language is important. ‘Just Transition’ might not work in your context, but leaving no one behind and creating opportunities for all is something we all agree on.
- It’s a challenge to know how to implement Just Transition, but the silos are breaking down faster than ever before. The links between a Just Transition and climate and human rights are strong. Start there.
- The leaders in this space are raising it as a key issue and demonstrating the opportunities whilst managing the risks. They are thinking through how to position this in the organisation whilst partnering with the business transformation and strategy teams that are planning for the long term.
During the session, our short exercise saw clients walk in the shoes of rightsholders.
Through a group case study and discussions, they explored the challenges and opportunities of a Just Transition approach, and considered how ideas and principles could be practically applied to real-life scenarios.
