Senior Business and Human Rights Consultant

twentyfifty is an award-winning management consultancy working with many well-known global companies to transform their social & environmental performance by embedding best-practice human rights due diligence throughout their activities. We partner our clients on the journey from identifying their human rights impacts and implementing management systems, to the transition to becoming responsible and sustainable businesses. We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our committed, creative, and collaborative team. Candidates should ideally be based near one of our hubs – London, Bristol, Geneva, or Berlin.

Key tasks include

  • Responsible for managing and leading a diverse range of client projects across the Retail and FMCG, Finance and Trading, Industrials and Tech and Food and Agriculture sectors
  • Work with clients to identify and address human rights risks and impacts and integrate findings into business practices
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and tasks within project teams, provide support and guidance to more junior consultants and where appropriate senior consultant peers
  • Understand the development needs of more junior consultants, ensuring they have the opportunity to enhance their skills and experience, within the scope of the project
  • Develop and facilitate client workshops, multi-stakeholder events and training courses
  • Support thought leadership and business development activities and contribute to the development of our product portfolio
  • Participate in internal strategic projects including the development of methodologies and peer learning
  • Take the lead in developing project proposals and perform the sales process with clients
  • Communicate twentyfifty's work through different channels, and publish high quality case-studies
  • Management and administrative tasks relating to the business

Key skills and experience

  • Minimum of five years’ experience working within a large business or consultancy in the areas of business and human rights, sustainability, or responsible sourcing
  • The ability to develop high quality client facing deliverables
  • Experience of developing sustainability and human rights strategy, and engaging at senior levels
  • Proven account and project management experience, with the ability to work strategically with clients
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure to deadlines and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • The ability to produce succinct, structured, and impactful communications and an engaging presentation style
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, confident and personable, to communicate with a wide range of people
  • Analytical skills including the use of excel and power BI (or equivalent)
  • Excellent knowledge of the business and human rights agenda, key international frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and recent legislative developments
  • Passionate about business as a contributor to sustainable development
  • An interest in twentyfifty and our work and a desire to help businesses think ambitiously and strategically
