Senior Business and Human Rights Consultant

We are looking for a candidate with

  • Minimum of five years’ experience working within the areas of business and human rights, sustainability, or responsible sourcing
  • Previous consultancy experience
  • Proven project management experience
  • Knowledge of the business and human rights agenda and recent developments related to implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
  • Able to distil large volumes of information into succinct, structured, and impactful communications
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate well with a range of people
  • An engaging presentation style
  • Passionate about business as a contributor to sustainable development
  • An interest in twentyfifty and our work and a desire to help businesses think ambitiously and strategically

Key tasks include

  • Leadership and management of 1 or 2 key client accounts (£500k+ annually) within FMCG and Retail, Agriculture and/or Industrials (including technology and science), delivering strategic value and driving innovation
  • Ensure a robust understanding of the client’s business and their strategic plan and priorities, alongside a high-level understanding of their social risks and potential for ‘positive impact’
  • Oversee multiple projects for these accounts, ensuring the standard of our delivery is high and aligns with the clients’ strategic plan
  • Identify opportunities to grow the account to achieve optimum impact and profitability
  • Engage client’s key stakeholders in regular reviews of twentyfifty’s service performance
  • Work collaboratively with the Managing Partners and Sector Leads to develop strategies to optimise the performance of the business
  • Manage consultants, associates and experts working on projects to ensure client needs are met and margins realised from project activities
  • Identify emerging talent, ensuring they are developed and given new areas of responsibility
  • Act as a mentor for consulting team members, offering guidance and support to enable them to perform to their full potential
  • Develop and facilitate client workshops, multi-stakeholder events and training courses
  • Draft proposals and lead contract negotiations.

Key tasks your role will involve

  • Manage and lead client projects with minimal supervision
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Develop project proposals and perform the sales process with clients
  • Manage consultants, associates and experts working on client projects to ensure client needs are met and margins realised
  • Develop and facilitate client workshops, multi-stakeholder events and training courses
  • Further the development of our methodologies for identifying and addressing human rights impacts and working with companies to integrate findings into business practices
  • Communicate twentyfifty's work through different channels
  • Participate in thought leadership development and profile-raising activities for twentyfifty
  • Identify cooperation opportunities and pursue strategic partnerships for twentyfifty's business development
  • Management and administrative tasks relating to the business.
