Managing Consultant
Industrials and Technology
Location: UK, Germany or Switzerland
We are looking for a Managing Consultant to join our team to lead client projects in the Industrials and Tech Sector, working closely with the Sector Director.
Key skills and experience required
- Minimum of eight years’ experience working for a large business or consultancy in the areas of business and human rights, sustainability, or responsible sourcing
- Knowledge and experience of the industrials and tech sector particularly extractives, renewables and or large infrastructure projects
- Knowledge and experience working with community rights, understanding of issues around stakeholder engagement, community impacts from large capital projects, vulnerable and Indigenous Peoples
- Experience engaging a range of stakeholders including executives, operational leadership, functional and specialist teams and rightsholders
- Proven business development experience and skills, including building and maintaining strong relationships, developing and presenting proposals, winning business and managing large programmes of client work
- Excellent knowledge of the business and human rights agenda, key international frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and recent legislative developments
- Excellent and proven project leadership skills, including project management, client/stakeholder engagement, team management and quality delivery
- Passionate about business as a contributor to sustainable development and helping companies frame and implement ambitious commitments
- Resilient and able to work under pressure to deadlines and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with a wide range of people
Key tasks
- Manage and lead a diverse range of client projects, predominantly within the Industrials and Tech sector
- Lead, actively participate in, and contribute to detailed work
- Lead client relationships to ensure projects are delivered in line with the client’s expectations
- Develop project team members, ensuring they can enhance their skills and experience within the scope of the project
- Proactively build relationships with potential clients and key stakeholders to win business and grow existing accounts
- Lead the development of proposals and pitches
